ATV Trailers Help To Considerably Ease The Chore Of Moving, Loading As Well As Unloading ATVs
July 14th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedWhen transporting an ATV, one would certainly find it different from loading as well as moving a bicycle. It requires a durable, high quality ATV trailer, which in essence means a means of loading as well as transporting the ATV from one place to another. The ATV trailer provides a higher level of care, convenience as well as expediency that makes the cumbersome task of moving, unloading as well as loading considerably easier.
Takes Away Stress And Minimizes Anxiety
Using an ATV trailer takes away the stress of moving an ATV around, and a proper ATV trailer will minimize anxiety and also assure the ATV owner that the trailer hitch, hitch ball, ball mount and safety chain is there to keep the ATV safe. When using an ATV trailer, it is like driving with a string around your waist and an iron ball at the other end.
Swaying around or changing lanes will cause the ATV trailer to sway along, and due to the distance between the trailer and the car, each movement of the car will cause a delayed reaction from the trailer. It is thus necessary to have the trailer tagging along behind and one should not brake too hard nor should one drive too fast.
There are also different ATV trailers made to take different loads as well as sizes; some will carry heavier loads and there are also those that can carry more than a single ATV. It is thus wise to consult the dealer or shop assistant to get the specifications and pick the one that suits individual needs the best.
With the help of an ATV trailer, one can turn the ATV into a year-round workhorse as a rugged trailer that is designed to carry the load of an ATV will considerably lighten the workload and help get the most out of the ATV
The ATV trailer should come with safety features such as electric brakes that have break-a-way kits including batteries, battery boxes, break away switches as well as an attached plunger and cable. These would ensure that if the coupler were to become separated from the tow ball, the plunger of the breakaway switch would come out and thus complete the electric circuit thereby powering up the electric brakes to bring the trailer to a halt.
So, before going out and buying an ATV trailer consider the safety as well as utility aspects, and with a few good makes available, there should be one that will suit individual needs and help in getting the most out of one’s ATV.

Get Some ATV Tracks
July 13th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, as the letters stand for, can be a lot of fun, with both versatility and utility in the design. ATVs can be used for fun in camping or just riding around, or in tasks such as plowing snow or hauling small trailers, and are home whether on flat ATV racing tracks or just riding around on some grassy ground. This doesn’t mean that ATVs are perfect, as there’s still the chance that they can flip over if ridden improperly or over unstable ground, or that it’ll get mired in the mud or snow. Of course, there are ways around this, and one great modification to these vehicles is a set of rubber ATV tracks to increase stability and traction on different types of ground.
New Treads
An ATV fitted with tracks looks like it’s got something close to tank treads attached, and they work on the same principle, by keeping more of the vehicle’s mode of locomotion in contact with the ground. It also has a tendency to widen the footprint, or the amount of ground area the ATV takes up, which also increases stability; think about how much easier it is to tip over a tall, narrow table than a wide one that’s close to the ground.
The suspension system of the ATV tracks as well as the rubber material ensures that it can run over plenty of irregular ground, making an ATV into an even more appropriate vehicle for all terrains, and ATV track systems tend to raise the ATV a few more inches off the ground, giving it further clearance underneath.
Light Weight
The other advantage to the increased footprint is that because the tracks have more contact with the ground than tires, which have contact with the ground only at four points, the ATV is putting less pressure on any one given spot on the ground than with tires, the same principle that’s behind the way snowshoes work. Between this and the design of the ATV track’s treads, this makes an ATV fitted with tracks ideal for snow and mud, where ordinary tires might simply sink in.
The other benefit to this is that ATV tracks are more environmentally friendly, since by putting less pressure on the ground, an ATV fitted with rubber tracks is less likely to leave deep tracks and tear up the ground, which is a common complaint about regular ATVs. With increased traction on different terrains and the lighter pressure placed on the ground, an ATV track system is just the thing for an ATV owner looking for improvements to his or her current machine.

ATV Tires - Basic Maintenance Tips
July 12th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedIt matters not whether you are a novice ATV rider or a professional sports rider, anyone can experience a flat tire on the trail. Although having a flat tire is not a scheduled event, you do need to be prepared and ready for when it happens - as it surely will sooner or later.
All-terrain vehicles, just like any other wheeled vehicles, can experience a flat tire. When this happens, there is no cause for panic, since flat ATV tires are easy to fix. This problem can be handled by most people without any great difficulty.
One of the most common occurences of flat ATV tires is caused by air leakage. When this happens, rest assured that all kinds of flats can be repaired, even on the trail. However, bear in mind that severe flats should always be removed and changed by a professional.
Fixing An ATV Tire
You can keep working on a flat ATV tire and ride it all through the day. However, be aware that you still need to get it fixed to avoid any future problems. There are a few items you will need to fix your ATV tire. So that you are always prepared for tire problems, you should store these items of equipment in a safe place where you can use them, any time and anywhere.
To fix your ATV tires, you will need a plug insertion tool, a reamer, tire plugs, tire pump, tire repair glue, and an air gauge. The air gauge is the most important tool you should always keep to hand.
A flat tire usually indicates that there is an air leak. Once your tires become flat, the first thing you need to do is to find the source of the leak. To do this, first put air in the tire. Then, you should look for certain objects that may have caused the leak – for instance, nails, sticks, screws and other harsh elements.
If you found nothing, try slowly rotating the damaged tire while listening for leaks and looking for possible cuts. It is recommended to use some water or a puddle to check for bubbles made by the escaping air which will allow you to see the source of the possible damage. You should also check to see if the valve stem or seal is broken.
Once you have successfully found the hole in the tire, use the reamer to roughen the hole’s edges to ensure that the plug will hold effectively. You should then thread the plug by applying a little amount of glue to it. Check to make sure that the plug will stay in place.
The art of repairing ATV tires can take a while to master, owing to the fact that different scenarios need different kinds of plugs. However, do bear in mind that, regardless of hole size, you should always allow the glue to dry before riding your ATV again. With this simple procedure, you can continue to ride your ATV in the meantime and have a permanent repair carried out later at a more convenient time.
