ATV Stunts: Dangerous Fun

July 11th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

ATV riding can be a fun hobby, with plenty of scenic and challenging trails around for exploration on your ATV. Sometimes, though, people desire a little more than simple riding, but are looking for a bigger thrill out of riding their ATV. Racing your ATV or attempting ATV stunts can be fun, but also make this sport more dangerous. ATV stunts in particular should not be attempted by anyone new to ATV riding. If you’re bound and determined to learn how to do a few ATV stunts, there are some things you should consider.

Learn To Ride

In order to do ATV stunts, you need to be able to control your ATV well. This means not just riding your ATV, but riding it often. Go out on local trails and get comfortable on them, from the beginner trails to the advanced ones. If you can’t safely handle your vehicle on challenging ATV trails, then you’ll have problems if you attempt any stunts. The more you ride your ATV, the closer to second nature controlling it will seem, which is key when doing stunts.

Wear Safety Equipment

It should go without saying that you need to have proper safety equipment when attempting to perform ATV stunts. A helmet is only the start; make sure you have riding leathers and gloves when you work on ATV stunts to protect your body all over. Don’t think that riding outfits are just something that came up from riding culture, as proper riding wear is the armor that keeps you from some nasty scrapes and other injuries. Remember, even though an ATV is a small vehicle, it can go fast, which means potential for injuries from crashes.

Be Careful

ATV stunts are fun because they look dangerous, and it’s not just appearances; they’re very dangerous. Only through a lot of practice and careful work can you work your way up to something truly impressive. People that do ATV stunts professionally got to that level of skill through being cautious, not reckless. Be sure to start small with your ATV stunts, only using small ramps if you’re attempting jumps or going at slow speeds while attempting wheelies.

Also, make sure that conditions are right for attempting stunts. If the ground is too wet and slick, you shouldn’t even attempt jumps. Keep in mind that even professional ATV stunt riders pay careful attention to conditions before attempting tricks.

Watch

Finally, going to ATV stunt shows can be a great way to learn about the sport, even if you don’t plan to do any stunts yourself. Watching the stunt riders, and even seeing a few spills, can give you an appreciation of the difficulty of stunt riding and the skill needed for it. And if you’re lucky, you can get a chance to talk with other stunt enthusiasts and learn about what they do to learn new tricks. Remember, stay safe, start small, and you’ll soon have a small number of ATV stunts you can do.

ATV Plows – Serving Your Needs

July 11th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

ATVs have continued to gain in popularity over the last several years. People are using them for hunting, racing, and leisure riding. They are a must if you are a farmer or own a large tract of land. It is surprising to learn ATVs were actually used in World War II to transport soldiers across Europe into Germany. Since their inception, ATVs have served as work horses, proving to make life easier for man.

If you want to turn your ATV into a work horse you might want to consider purchasing an ATV plow. They come in many shapes and sizes and can perform a variety of functions. You can use them to plow snow, gravel, leaves, and even push feed. You can also get ATV plows that hook behind the ATV for breaking ground. This can go a long way in making gardening fun and easy.

ATV Plows And Accessories

In the past, ATV plows were difficult to find, but today they are readily available in many sizes and come with many accessories. You can purchase a manual lift package or they also come with electrical lift packages. You can find a wide variety of price ranges, depending on how much use the plow will get.

Brackets are available to easily mount to your ATV frame which allows quick and easy plow attachment. You can get manual lifts that require very little effort to raise. Electrical systems usually require a small motor which can be hooked right in to your ATV battery. Push tubes allow plow attachment which is easy and efficient.

A 42” straight blade is the perfect size for clearing snow off of sidewalks and driveways. The 48” blade can be used on smaller four wheel drive machines and still offers good tire clearance. If you have a larger four wheel drive ATV the 60” blade can be used to clear parking lots or large driveways.

If gardening is your hobby, you can get an ATV plow that can perform many different functions. It can be used as a plow, cultivator, and a seeder. With this type of attachment you can take gardening to a whole new level while enjoying the ride.

If you plan to use your ATV with a plow it would probably be a good idea to purchase heavier weight tires which can hold up to the additional work. No matter what you desire, there are many ATV plows and accessories to choose from. Your ATV dealer will be able to help you make the right choices for your needs.

Fun With A Suzuki ATV

July 10th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

If you live in an area with rough terrain, it might be important for you to have a vehicle that can travel on all different types of terrain. A Suzuki ATV can fit these needs quite easily.

What Is It?

An ATV is an all terrain vehicle. This means that your Suzuki ATV will be able to go over all different kinds of terrain with ease. Most of the time, Suzuki ATVs are going to be very popular with places like ranches or farms. In these locations, there are often not very many roads for people to travel on, and therefore a Suzuki ATV is needed. You don’t need a road to drive on, and you don’t need to have any kind of road built to use your ATV. You are going to find that often a Suzuki ATV can go where nothing else can. This is due in part to the fact that the ATV is a quite small machine, which means that it can fit between trees and through sand banks very easily. Also, it is a four-wheel drive, which means that it is able to go over any different kinds of climates and terrain that you might need it to drive on.

Reasons For Use

If you live in a place or have land where you don’t have very many roads, you could benefit quite clearly from having a Suzuki ATV. This is going to allow you to really be able to get a feel for the land and to get things done that you wouldn’t be able to get done from your pick up or your car. You can go out to the pastures at a much quicker pace than walking, and you are going to be able to get things done on a much smoother ride than using anything else. Also, with your Suzuki ATV, you can attach a trailer to the back and you can haul things over this kind of rough terrain as well. This makes for ease when it comes to all different kinds of chores.

Remember that there are also safety concerns when you are looking at a Suzuki ATV. You should make sure that you know the age restrictions for ATV use in your area, and make sure that the person running the ATV is always aware of how it works, and how to stop, as well as what to do and what not to do. ATV riders should always wear a helmet and proper gear, as well.
