Introducing You to the Polaris ATV

Published by ATV Rider under ATV Manufacturers

Polaris Industries is one of the leading manufacturers of all-terrain vehicles. Polaris ATVs enjoy a reputation of being high-end vehicles. This is because of the company’s history and experience on producing rear-independent suspension on utility all-terrain vehicles.

Polaris ATVs are suitable for all kinds of riders with ranging skill levels and differeing riding locations. However, with the release of the 2006 Polaris ATV Outlaw, riding an all-terrain vehicle became a new level of experience.

A Look At The 2006 Polaris Outlaw

The Polaris ATV Outlaw is an independent rear suspension-equipped sports model. The 2006 Polaris Outlaw all-terrain vehicle is the first high-performance sports model to introduce suspension that can handle aggressive tracks and trails, allowing a greater lead for its competitors.

The independent rear suspension allows the rider to experience improved control while experiencing less fatigue, enhancing performance and improving riding experience. For sports riders, this feature is one of the most popular improvements in the world of ATVs.

With the Polaris ATV Outlaw, you can ensure a proper, comfortable fit with the seat relationship and foot pegs. Since the 2006 Polaris ATV was designed with a roomy space and couch-like seats, both small and big riders can comfortably ride this ATV.

The Polaris ATV Outlaw is equipped with a very smooth motor that can pull the gear high while still maintaining stability. Its 500cc motor can pull strongly from low to high revs, without suffering any extra tire spin or wheeling.

Boasting an independent rear suspension, the Polaris ATV highlights impressive handling, even in the hands of a beginner. Made from aluminum piggyback and dual A as well as using adjustable Fox shocks, this four-wheel suspension can easily pass through stutter bumps without any hassle whatsoever. It features a steady throttle and easy jumping when landing on both uneven and straight terrains.

Another impressive feature of the 2006 Polaris ATV is the steel-braided front and rear brakes. You can confidently expect to experience smooth and progressive braking from the front brakes, while employing an easy locking up on the rear brakes.

However, although the Outlaw does have impressive features, it also has a few downsides. For instance, you should handle the throttle slowly and expect to launch the front end skyward as you turn corners. Some riders have complained about how the seat comes off on big hits or hard corners.

Simply put, the 2006 Polaris Outlaw is an innovative ATV that offers the rider impressive handling and a new independent rear suspension feature.

What Made The Kawasaki ATV Prairie 650 A Winner?

According to the people at Kawasaki Motors, the Prairie 650 is liquid-cooled with cylinders set at a 90-degree angle for smooth running. According to the engineers of this Kawasaki ATV, the Prairie 650 has twice the power strokes of the single-cylinder design making this vehicle far more superior than any other models available in the market today.

Although this Kawasaki ATV is very powerful, it is not really difficult to handle. Stopping the Prairie 650 is not really much of the problem because the engineers of this Kawasaki ATV have combined powerful dual-piston front disc brakes with a sealed multiple disc wet brake system in the rear of the vehicle. Actually, the engineers of this Kawasaki ATV borrowed the idea of the brakes configuration from the designs of heavy equipments used in the construction industry and those big equipments being used in agricultural farms. Since the brakes systems used in this Kawasaki ATV worked so well with the other types of heavy industrial equipments, there is no reason why it will not do well in the ATV. True to its promise, the Kawasaki ATV Prairie 650 revolutionized the whole ATV industry.

Honda ATVs - The History of The Legend

Published by ATV Rider under ATV Manufacturers

Honda ATVs were one of the first ever all-terrain vehicles released for production. The story begins in 1967 when a group of Honda engineers, led by Osamu Takeuchi, were striving to provide a new recreational vehicle that would be totally different to any other vehicle produced. This was how the US90 was conceived and produced.

Developing the idea for the first Honda ATV involved a number of considerations, wherein the group of engineers considered whether to build a two-, four- or six-wheeled configuration. However, the group eventually decided on a three-wheel Honda ATV because it could be built with the most compatible features to facilitate the vehicle’s intended function.

The US90 was the first Honda ATV produced. It featured a seven horsepower engine channeled through a dual range, 4-speed gearbox and automatic clutch. At around $600 per vehicle, this 1970 model was mainly used by farmers because of its fat tires and the capability to ride through sand and snow. However, by the end of the 1970s, people had started to use the earlier Honda ATV models for recreational purposes.

The Popularity Of Honda ATVs

At the start of the 1980s, both utility and sports ATV models enjoyed a major boom in the market. Farmers were still using the utility models at this time.

One of the most popular Honda ATV utility models was the 1980 ATC185, which featured 25 inch tires, 5-speed transmission and an automatic clutch with a powerful 180cc, 4-stroke engine.

When all-terrain vehicles began to be used for sports purposes, Honda released the 1982 ATC200E (also known as the “Big Red”). It was a powerful vehicle with a 192cc engine and a 4-speed, dual range gearbox that produced more power than its utility model counterpart. This exact model was enhanced with a reverse gear and new drive chain for added durability in 1984.

From the 1980s onwards, Honda ATVs have been used for racing over every type of terrain, from desert roads to frozen lakes, all over America. Since Honda has always been renowned for high-performance vehicles that are fit for racing, their ATVs are no different.

After the success of the three-wheel utility and sports ATV models, Honda, as well as other manufacturers of all-terrain vehicles, discontinued the production of three-wheel ATVs. Instead, they released an improved version with four wheels, allowing better suspension and a more powerful engine.

Honda ATVs are known for revolutionizing the world of all-terrain vehicles for both sports and utility purposes. Famous models from Honda include the four-wheel TRX200, the 1988 FourTrax 300, the 1995 Foreman 400 and a dozen other high-performance vehicles.
